This moodboard reflects curated images from my favorite projects done during my time at Parsons. There is a balance of softness, material experimentation, and storyline driven imagery that reflects my practice as an Integrated Design student concentrating on Creative Production. The collection of images ranges anywhere from ethereal fashion photography with sheer, iridescent fabrics to vintage-inspired interiors and ornate objects, evoking the tactility and atmosphere of my design practice. There is a blurred line between the spaces in which I design, which can be both theoretical and fantastical, but also domestic and lived-in. The interior design moodboard, historical tea caddy replica, and metal lampshade somehow fit alongside my more editorial portraits and staged environments. Light and materiality play a significant role in my work, as soft and dreamlike aesthetics are what drive my work. I have spent my years at Parsons engaging in blending material culture, interiors, history, and conceptual storytelling into a cohesive visual language that represents me as an artist and designer.
These images represent me as a designer, because I often work at various intersections of production, creative direction, and product design. I wanted to curate a moodboard that shows my ability to stay socially and environmentally engaged in my research, prototyping, and final product, whilst creating visual works that feel both curated yet dreamy and immersive. My practice emphasizes taking inspiration from vintage and antique items, as seen in the tea caddy, lampshade, metal mobile, and moodboard. I also approach my work from a historical perspective, referencing art, utilizing deadstock materials, and placing an emphasis on hand crafted objects. Looking toward my career goals, this moodboard summarizes my strength in producing both individual objects and entire atmospheres through the lens of branding, editorial projects, and fine art.
